It’s been our great privilege to bring hampers to over one hundred families over the Christmas period up to now. We always help families who are struggling whenever we can. However during this Covid-19 pandemic we have been stirred to do so on a continuous basis, to this end we have partnered with Christ Harvest Church in Keighley and are meeting the needs of so many who are struggling at this time.
Walking Free has invested several thousand pounds in buying toys, clothes and especially food for families, the elderly, single mums and the homeless in the Keighley surrounding area. Several local supermarkets such as Asda and Morrison’s, have very kindly helped by donating food towards this worthy cause.
Matthew 25 v 34 says, “Then the King will say to those at His right hand, Come, you blessed of My Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. V40 says, Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine you did for me.”
What a privilege it has been and continues to be. We have plans to extend our help in this way in the Keighley area and to others further afield. Below are some photographs of the hampers that have been given to people in need in the local Keighley area.
